Chirano is located in southwestern Ghana, approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Kumasi, Ghana's second largest city. The mine is within the Bibiani gold belt and consists of 11 deposits. Open pit and underground ore are processed at the Chirano plant. The capacity of the mill is approximately 3.5 million tonnes per annum. Processing involves crushing, ball mill grinding, leaching, and CIL. |

Purpose of Role
The successful applicant will be reporting to the Mine Manager and will also be responsible for the day-to-day safety and production performance of the Open Pit operations. He will also ensure continued growth of the Mine Operations Team and to maximize operational safety, efficiencies and profitability.

§ Must hold a Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution § Must have at least 10 years’ experience in mining, and not less than 5 years in surface mine operations § Must have a Mine Superintendent’s Certificate § Mine Manager’s certificate will be an advantage § Complete knowledge of the Open Pit Mining environment § Solid safety performance at the personal and professional level § Current and valid driver’s license required.
