The Americas Regional Office supports Kinross’ operations and projects in North and South America.

Responsible for maintaining all records for all North American Region surface and mineral tenures, agreements and other rights, as such record is acquired, developed and perfected by the Company; to manage the full utilization of the web-based Kinross Land Management System, while continuously aligning daily administration functions to reflect Kinross’ values.  The N.A. Region scope includes all U.S.A. states, all Canadian Provinces and Territories and all Mexico states.  

Key areas of Responsibility and Duties:
KINROSS LAND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (KLMS)
Administrator of the Kinross Land Management System (KLMS) database, working closely with the vendor, consultants, in-house departments, and mine sites to achieve complete accuracy and maximize utilization.
Provide the day-to-day data management and maintenance of KLMS record.
Support implementation and continuous improvement of FlexiCadastre and KLMS.
Provide leadership in all record data documentation, validation, data entry/import processes, and work closely with Land, Exploration and GIS support to insure accurate spatial information.
Provide initial training and ongoing training support to all North America users of KLMS and   complete User authorizations and access clearances as needed.
Conduct user acceptance testing and documentation as upgrades are introduced.  
Provide leadership and support for development of a policies and procedures manual for use of KLMS.   Develop multi-site guidelines for the implementation and development of KLMS.
Create, produce, and maintain training materials including training manuals, PowerPoint presentations, and site-specific exercise modules.
Interface with Land Managers, senior management and other departments to insure accurate capture and communication of information to meet corporate needs.

LAND RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE
-Administer, input and maintain all documents, files, and data base records for the North America Land Department.
-Maintain regular communication with Land Managers, corporate departments and site operations as necessary to ensure that all data is captured, responsibilities and requirements are being met.
-Ensure that all tenure and agreement obligations, payments, notices, reports, and correspondence are dealt with accurately and timely.
-Coordinate with Land Manager(s) to timely and accurately initiate and complete all mining claim exhibits and claim maintenance annual filings.
-Receive land transaction documents, timely review for abstracts for accuracy, ensure validation, and input relevant obligations into the KLMS system.  
-Support the management of all paper and digital records.
-Support the Land Department on timely and accurate communications, filings, reports to joint venture partners and property owners; to state, federal and provincial offices; and insure completion of same.
-Develop and maintain a Central Records System to support the corporate land database.
-Provides and/or oversees clerical support to the Land Department, to include correspondence, copying, scanning, mailing, internal document filing, and other needs as directed or requested by the Land Managers.
-Participate in a collaborative manner with Land and other department personnel to achieve corporate objectives.
OTHER
· Supports efforts to ensure that land management quality standards are upheld.
· Liaise with IT Manager to ensure protection of KLMS.   Liaise with GIS support.
· Provide monthly reports of work.
· Attend conferences, off-site meetings and training as directed/approved by supervisor.
· Other projects/duties as assigned

· Working knowledge of the U.S. Mining Law and practices, mining and real estate contracts, joint ventures, mining claims.   Ability to learn mining title regulatory guidelines for Canada and Mexico.

· Working experience in the use of modern land management information technology considered a strong asset.

· Knowledge and experience in the application of ArcGIS to mineral and land rights management highly desired.

· Strong familiarity with contracts and abstracting skills to document agreement obligations.

· Bachelor’s degree in business, natural resources or similar preferred

· Experience as a paralegal providing support to the legal profession, is a plus.

· Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience preferred.

· Excellent analytical skills. Ability and initiative to research data and apply the information to assignments.

· Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and outside agencies, and to occasionally conduct teaching/coaching sessions.

· Strong PC skills, including proficiency with MS Office suite; Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint.   Database skills or experience considered a strong asset.

· Must be flexible, work independently, and be able to effectively function within a “team” structure.

· Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills. Must be strongly self-initiating and manage heavy workloads.

· Must be detail oriented and be able to perform work with a high degree of accuracy

· Must possess strong organizational and problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
