Manager, Resource Geology
Purpose of Role To lead the execution of the strategy for the geology function and to ensure alignment with the organization’s overall strategy. To ensure continued growth of the geology function, to maximize operational efficiencies and profitability, and to cultivate exceptional stakeholder and employee satisfaction. Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties 1. Responsible for geological interpretation and resource estimation supporting the company’s operations, exploration and merger and acquisitions activities. • Assists with the consolidation of the company’s resources and reserve estimates at the corporate level • Monitors regulatory compliance with respect to mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates. • Provides geological and resource modeling support of operations and development projects • Participates in due diligence reviews and compilation of engineering studies • Assists in establishing processes related to geology and resource modeling. 2. Management of outside consultants providing geological and resource modeling services to the company. • Align activities to support the Corporation’s goals and objectives • Actively monitors the developments in the industry related to resource modeling and reporting. 3. Management of multiple technological projects simultaneously. • Technical responsibilities span the entire mining life-cycle from discovery, exploration, development, construction, operations, closure and reclamation. • Position is largely focused on geology and resource modeling • Develops understanding of surface and underground mine engineering, metallurgical testing, mineral processing, cost estimation and construction methodologies and protocols must be understood and applied to all open pit and underground situations. • Geographical variations in regulations, cultural practices, cost structures and operational requirements must be understood and consistently applied to all technical and evaluation situations. |

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements • Undergraduate Degree in Geology • 10 years of mining related experience, including a minimum of 4 years in mine geology (open cut and/or underground) • Geological and resource modeling experience • Eligible for registration as a professional geoscientist in Ontario and meet the requirements of a “Qualified Person” as defined under NI-43-101 Additional Qualifications & Skill Requirements • In depth understanding of gold open pit and underground mining processes a definite asset • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, organizational, technical and analytical skills • Previous work experience using various modeling software such as Vulcan, Gemcom, and Datamine • Experience with Whittle 4X would be considered an asset. • Aptitude and interest in regulatory affairs and research development |
