The Kinross Corporate Head Office is located in downtown Toronto and supports Kinross operations and projects worldwide. Corporate functions include Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, Human Resources, IT and Investor Relations.

Kinross is searching for a Communications expert the join our team. We are looking for a communications specialist, but are open to making the role a Communications Manager for the right person.

The Kinross Communications Specialist/Communications Manager will be responsible for a combination of internal and external corporate communications.

Key Areas of Responsibilities and Duties:
INTERNAL:
-Delivery of Kinross’ internal communications program through online newsletter, and other digital platforms (videos, intranet, etc.)
-Support annual Living Our Values Awards program (direct nominations process, coordinate successful event)
-Leverage intranet homepage as employee communications platform
-Develop and execute effective internal communication plans to address evolving business requirements
-Provide communications counsel and support to Human Resources and other departments
-Manage communications relating to employee announcements, recruitment, safety etc.
-Expand awareness of Kinross values and culture among employees
-Promote ongoing communication and awareness of values and key business objectives across the company
-Supervise and/or support other specialized communication as required
-Quarterly Town Hall
EXTERNAL:
- Support development of corporate messaging, presentations, videos and other communications products for external audiences including media, investors and market analysts
- Support development of social media content and website content
*Desired Skills and Qualifications
 
Minimum Qualification and Experience
-University degree in Communications, Journalism or related discipline
-Creative, versatile, digitally proficient self-starter with excellent writing skills to develop engaging and effective communications products directed at both 9,000 employees in six countries and external audiences
- Excellent writing skills; emphasis on versatility to write for both internal and external audiences with business orientation
-Knowledge and experience using digital tools and platforms to communicate
-Experience as a writer in the extractive sector, especially mining, is preferable but not necessary
-Ability to develop, execute and manage communications campaigns
-Ability to work with globally diverse business units and audiences -- languages (Portuguese, Spanish, French, or Russia) an asset but not required
-Excellent grasp of communications principles and practices
-Excellent project management skills
- Candidates with 3 – 5 years of experience would likely be considered for the specialist role, while candidates with 5 – 7 years of experience may be given a manager title.
