Under the general supervision of the Fixed Maintenance General Foreman, the incumbent ensures that the mechanical maintenance and repair of fixed facilities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
 
Essential Functions

1.   Monitor all fixed maintenance in progress and all maintenance completed, implementing changes as deemed necessary.   Schedule work, assign personnel, review performance and make recommendations for promotion, transfer, discipline or dismissal.
2.   Liaison with the process operations group and the process technical services group to plan, monitor, and execute general fixed maintenance.   Identify duration of maintenance or repair activity on equipment or facilities.
3.   Diagnose and troubleshoot out of the ordinary equipment or fixed maintenance problems.   Respond to equipment emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
4.   Maintain accurate and up to date records of work performed.
5.   Perform daily administrative duties such as time cards, reports, and supply requisitions.
6.   Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
7.   Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
8.   Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
9.   Works without risk or harm to self and others.
10.   Punctuality and regular attendance required.
11.   Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
12.   Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

1.   Must be able to prioritize effectively as conflicting priorities may play a major role in this position.
2.   Must be able to have maintenance completed on a timely basis.
3.   Must ensure continuity of maintenance and communications with operations crews on rotating schedules.
4.   Experience with JDE is preferred.
5.   At least 5 years’ experience in the mineral processing industry.
6.   One year experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.
7.   Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
8.   Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
9.   General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
10.   Ability to learn P.C. skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
11.   Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
12.   Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
13.   Demonstrates strong administrative and organizational skills.
14.   Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
15.   Requires valid driver’s license.
