The Kinross Africa Regional Office is located in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, and is responsible for providing senior leadership and back office support to the gold mine sites located in Ghana and Mauritania.


 
Key responsibilities


    - Provide support to JDE Technology Area Specialist on activities related to 
    systems, programs, and processes in Business Systems;
    - Research information to support decision making and improve processes, 
    technologies, or methodologies;
    - Propose new work approaches, methods, and policies to optimize performance 
    and to ensure adherence to industry regulations and organizational standards; 
    - Contribute to the development of policies and practices related to JDE and 
    other business systems as required;
    - Keep on top of trends related to business systems and incorporating this 
    information into work assignments;
    - Seek mentorship and learning to improve JD Edwards systems or technical 
    knowledge and skill set for other ERP related systems;
    - Participate in task forces related to JD Edwards’ modules;
    - Manage and coordinate change requests and software support requirements; 
    - Maintain Business Process maps and system documentation around the processes 
    and configuration for JD Edwards and other related business systems;
    - Develop function design specifications, tests, and implements new 
    applications and system enhancements, ensuring the integrity of set-ups and 
    configurations;
    - Optimize existing applications and identifies opportunities to improve the 
    efficiency of business processes;
    - Travel to and working with all Kinross business units (sites) to resolve 
    business process issues;
    - Work with the corporate group to ensure the sites adhere to corporate policy 
    and governance requirements;
    - Manage and develop reports specifications from the JD Edwards’ system 
    software as needed;
    - Analyze information, prepare functional documents, support production users 
    and configure software solutions to support decision;
    - Investigate, research, and analyze information and issues related to 
    business systems;
    - Provide production level 2 support for JD Edwards and related systems;
    - Prepare technical reports and documentation to ensure compliance with 
    industry and operational requirements;
    - Analyze site requirements and evaluates new technologies;
    - Plan, test and implement new systems, or software to address business needs; 
    - Analyze data in the databases and identify data integrity issues
    - Implement solutions to maximize data quality and compatibility with existing 
    systems;
    - Assist with training and skill development related to business systems where 
    appropriate;
    - Assist in developing training plans, end-user documentation and training new 
    users.

 


EU Work permit is required
 
Education
 
 Bachelor’s degree in IT and / or a related field

Experience

      - 3 years of related work experience, implementing, supporting and converting manual or semi-automated processes to Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One 9.0 or higher release levels 
      A total of more than ten (10) years of work experience in computing industry in diverse disciplines including, but not limited to, software, hardware, project management, system design, and implementation




      Languages

      English on a fluent level.
       
      French highly desirable

    - Strong skill and knowledge of one or more core JDE functional areas of Finance, Supply Chain, 
    Maintenance and Human Resource 
    - Previous supervisory and  project management experience 
    - Ability to identify, define, interpret, and resolve complex issues 
    - Ability to influence and communicate with internal and external customers, project teams and senior management 
    - Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skill set 
    - Attention to detail 
    - Works well independently and in team settings 
    - Possesses good time-management skills, and is able to work effectively under pressure 
    - Ability to break down problems into components 
    - Understanding of mining business process 
    - Interpersonal skills and relationship building
