Under the direction of the Senior Geologist, is responsible for mine geology and/or exploration duties, as required while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values .
Essential Functions 1. Geologic mapping and sampling. 2. Ore control. 3. Slope monitoring. 4. Database management. 5. Performs work assignments in a timely manner. 6. Represents the company with drilling and other contractors. 7. Responsible to manage the RMGC Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility. 8. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 9. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management. 10. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance. 11. Works without risk or harm to self and others. 12. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by state agency, or must be able to pass driver competency course and exam. 13. Punctuality and regular attendance required. 14. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above. 15. Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor. |

1. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
2. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations. 3. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 4. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. 5. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team. 6. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills 7. Basic technical skills in geology. 8. Bachelor’s degree in geologic sciences is required. 9. Entry level or one to three years of experience in mine and/or exploration geology. 10. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. 11. Requires valid driver’s license.
