Based in Mauritania, Kinross Tasiast is set to become one of the great gold finds of our generation. It is the first mine in a highly prospective greenstone belt, located within an extensive gold system that is largely underexplored.


Purpose of Role:

The role will coordinate all aspects of bringing contractors to site, managing activities while on site and ensuring proper demobilization.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Assess and modify as necessary mobilization procedures for contractors
Control, monitor and report contractor mobilization
Report contractor movements to end users and key stakeholders
Review and align contractors to their individual contracts
Receive and review all correspondence between supplier and end user
Report and inform all Kinross stakeholders of contractor movements
Expedite and coordinate internal discussions of contractor movements
Communicate responses and requirements for stake holders in the contractor process
Report and ensure mobilization to site is communicated clearly to contractor and end user
Ensure critical work plans are in place for contractor prior to arriving at Tasiast
Report through JDE progress of contractors through their contract period to end users and key stakeholders
Report Kinross requirements for contractor alignment to the end users
Report and ensure Demobilization of contractor is completed
Ensure Subcontractors adhere to all safety environmental and Mauritanian legal requirements
Interface with end user departments to develop clearly defined Scopes of Work.
Coordinate with supply chain and contract management to ensure the scopes of work are accurately reflected in any commercial agreements.
Interface with supply chain and the commercial side of contract management to ensure contractor adherence to policies.
Act as single point of contact for contractor company and end  user departments for all mobilization, demobilization, and execution issues related to the contractor’s works on site.

Qualifications:

University Degree (Bachelor of Science in related area preferred)
Additional specialized education of up to 4 years including masters level degree or equivalent
Formal professional designation in appropriate area of expertise
Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
8 - 12 years of related work experience
Knowledge and experience of engineering techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and mine operations
Knowledge and experience of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions
Knowledge and experience of developing policies and procedures relating to safety, the environment, and individual and organizational development
Familiar with federal / industry and local health/ safety/ environmental regulations, as they relate to mining operations
Good working Knowledge of MS Office

Legislative Requirements: Mauritanian Work permit is required Language Requirements: English fluency is required
French conversation level is desirable
Spanish conversation level is desirable Travel Requirements:

The position is based in Tasiast mine with a rotation shift Education Requirements:

B.S. in Business Management or equivalent
