Under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent, the incumbent works in the planning team to manage the material handling portion of the planning and scheduling functions. This requires a high level of coordination between maintenance, purchasing, and warehousing while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
Essential Functions 1. Provide support to the maintenance planning function through materials handling. This includes ordering, staging, and returning parts for planned/scheduled jobs. 2. Ensure parts and material orders are placed in a timely manner and follow up on orders to ensure that parts are available for scheduled start dates. If parts are not available, work with purchasing to expedite orders. 3. Assist in ongoing creation of Bill of Material (BOM’s) and Associated Parts Lists (APL’s) for standard jobs. 4. Recommend substitute parts or other sources of parts as applicable if normal parts and materials are not available. 5. Provide recommendations to warehousing on sufficient inventory quantities while keeping inventory holding costs at a minimum. 6. Work with the Warehouse to coordinate the staging of material for planned jobs. 7. Manage rotables in conjunction with Warehouse and Purchasing to ensure cores are returned to the manufacturer in a timely manner and rebuilds are to agreed specifications. 8. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 9. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management. 10. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance. 11. Works without risk or harm to self and others. 12. Punctuality and regular attendance required. 13. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above. 14. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor. |

1. Possess working knowledge of tooling and equipment required during material handling.
2. Must be proficient in RMGC software such as JD Edwards. 3. Must be able to maintain working relationship with supply chain to provide materials commonly used and required by RMGC employees. 4. Must be able to work closely with suppliers and vendors. 5. Complete necessary paperwork required for purchasing and warehousing in an appropriate manner. 6. Strong mechanical understanding of equipment preferred. 7. Must be mechanically inclined. 8. 2 years as a Mobile/Fixed equipment mechanic preferred. 9. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 10. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations. 11. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 12. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. 13. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team. 14. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills. 15. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. 16. Requires valid driver’s license.
