| Purpose of the role:
To coordinate activities related to the execution of the strategy for the short range mine planning team and to ensure service and / or operating standards are met (internally and / or externally). To contribute to the design and development of processes, practices and methodologies in the mine planning team. the incumbent must ensure continued development of the national workforce and to maximize operational efficiencies and profitability. Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties: To develop and implement business practices within mine planning that align with the organization’s overall strategy · Assist in implementing processes, policies, systems, and practices within the department that contribute to effective mine planning · Assist the project sponsor for key initiatives; maintains and works within the organizational values, cultural, and prioritizes business goals · Collaborate with the technical services team to identify and analyze business requirements and the implications for the team; identifies gaps and implements agreed upon solutions · Ensure key performance measures for the team are met; monitors and reports on the achievement of targets and revises plans as needed To coordinate activities related to Short Range Mine Planning · Create weekly work schedules based on monthly production targets · Create monthly work schedules based on budget and forecast production targets. · Develop mine plans within the processes, policies, systems, and practices within the mine planning group that contribute to effective executable operations · Analyze and interpret information in reference to mine planning · Prepare communication materials, such as mine planning documents as they relate to the planned operations · Keep abreast of trends related to mine planning and incorporates this information into work assignments and approach · Responsible for the preparation of short-term mine plans and schedules, and integrates them with the long-term plans and designs · Suggest changes to model criteria based on comparisons with mine performance · Identifies planning options and key performance goals and acts as a liaison to operations; works to overcome challenges and barriers and minimize risk · Sets performance targets and measures, monitors, and manages overall performance of the operation · Monitors key performance measures for the operation; monitors and reports on the achievement of targets and revises strategies as needed |

| Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
· BSc in Mine Engineering or equivalent · Formal professional or technical registration in appropriate area of expertise · 3 – 5 years of related work experience with a minimum of 2 years in an active planning role at an operating mine · Proficiency with SURPAC, Datamine, Minesched, Whittle 4X, NPVS · Ability to read and write in English · Ability to communicate in French and/or Arabic would be a definite asset. #LI-KZ1 |
