The role of the of the supply chain Enablement function at Kinross is to qualify, select, and implement supply chain initiatives focused on technology and process innovation that deliver strategic, and tangible business benefits to our mining operations, now and in the future. This includes the segmentation of our supply chain organizations based on capability and complexity, such that the selected initiatives consider the available resources, and operational objectives, while delivering measurable, value based outcomes.
Rigorous Financial Discipline: Builds, supports, and maintains the tools and processes necessary to effectively perform demand planning and forecasting in support of Kinross’s working capital objectives. Drives inventory management best practices to regions and sites to deliver reduction in supplies inventories. Develops appropriate and actionable key performance indicators for measuring supply chain effectives and operating cost reduction. Acts a key stakeholder for representing supply chain requirements in technology selection and leads the financial evaluation of technology proposals. Outstanding Corporate Citizenship: Attentive to the trends affecting Kinross and customers and stakeholder teams. Stays aware of the changing customer needs/expectations and how supply chain fundamentals can be best deployed to augment customer value. Seeks to understand Kinross operations and customer experiences to design and implement programs that deliver business value. Builds credibility with internal customers by acting on their requests for support. Operational Excellence: Identifies opportunities to enhance productivity through effective deployment and enhancement of supply chain fundamentals for planning, purchasing, inventory and vendor management areas. Works with end users to effectively design new work methodologies, processes/procedures, controls, metrics, reporting, and training. Takes accountability for meeting stakeholder time and quality standards. Suggests operational enhancements to support work efficiency. Identifies potential cost saving opportunities. Takes on new challenges willingly. Putting People First: Suggests ideas for enhancing overall functional effectiveness. Remains aware of personal strengths, gaps and development needs. Additionally: • Evaluate current processes and program fundamentals • Ability to recognize existing levels of supply chain maturity and tailor value-add activities/programs in order to ensure they are applicable and contributing to a sites existing goals, in addition to laying a foundation for future improvement to the overall maturity level. • Recommend, develop, and implement supply chain methodologies, processes, controls and tools to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and stakeholder buy-in of work performed by the function. • Help the Supply Chain function to drive best value for money by supporting ongoing savings initiatives through process and productivity improvement. • Develop a tracking and reporting capability for the function • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives across working capital areas including ongoing support activities and programs • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders such as Finance, IT, Operations, Maintenance, and Legal to drive stakeholder focused solution enhancements. Present findings and recommendations to senior levels within the organization. • Achieve complete satisfaction of internal and external partners by providing a high level of service. • Lead, coach and mentor team members to achieve greater results through effective development programs. |

Requirements:
Skills and Knowledge: • University Degree in business or engineering or equivalent work experience • Proven ability to assess a business/requirement gap, develop a strategy, gain stakeholder at all levels within the organizational approval of a plan. • Innovative thinking: proven ability to connect ideas, events, and circumstances to find supply chain solutions to business problems or goals. • Excellent evaluation skills to analyze information and make effective quantitative recommendations. • Ability to strategize and lead complex stakeholder work groups that support the business strategy. • Key contributor to a positive and collaborative work environment. • Excellent communicator of Supply Chain project/initiative findings and able to effectively present final recommendations to all levels of management. • Ability to navigate when there is ambiguity through thinking ahead, identifying the critical path, apply project management methodology, and achieve results through others. • Customer service mindset; solid interpersonal skills and integrity. • Ability to communicate clearly, to the point, and with conviction. • Demonstrated drive for results and a sense of urgency. • Act as change agent and advocate for Supply Chain as a value added function. • Comfortable re-engineering operating processes. • Experience developing program methodologies, tools, templates. Experience: • Minimum 8 years progressive experience in Supply Chain – specifically procurement, inventory management, and demand planning • Experience leading process enhancement initiatives • Experience in technology evaluation and selection • Experience in project management practices • Experience developing and implementing program performance standards • Proven track record in leading multiple enhancement initiatives with decentralized internal and external stakeholders • Experience in presenting to senior levels in the organization • Experience in ERP and systems implementation as a business owner or subject matter expert |
