Under the general supervision of the Truck Supervisor, the Lead Person in the Truck Shop serves as both a Maintenance Lead Person and a Relief Foreman when necessary while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values. Essential Functions 1. Works with Maintenance Personnel to ensure that all parts, special tools, and equipment necessary to complete a planned task are available and accounted for before the job commences. 2. Works with Maintenance Personnel to ensure that all parts, tools, and equipment necessary for an emergency job are obtained before or during the job in a timely manner. 3. Coordinate with Mine Operations Personnel on repairs and maintenance to be completed. 4. Fills in as a mechanic when necessary. 5. Performs all work assigned to him/her in a safe, well managed manner, and assures that the work areas are safe for mechanics and other employees to work. 6. Completes & returns well-documented and completed shift paper work in a timely manner, and attends meetings as necessary. 7. Keeps in active communication with the Maintenance Supervisor, and periodically updates him/her on the status of work being performed. 8. Will occasionally serve as the Maintenance Supervisor, and during that time will take on the responsibilities and duties of the job. 9. Lead maintenance teams in full compliance of all Company Policies, MSHA Standards, and Environmental practices. 10. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 11. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management. 12. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance. 13. Works without risk or harm to self and others. 14. Punctuality and regular attendance required. 15. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above. 16. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor. |

1. Must have a working knowledge of all tools and equipment necessary to work in the Maintenance department. 2. Must be proficient with JDE, Cat SIS, and email systems. 3. Must be able to solve problems effectively in a variety of areas, including mechanical issues. 4. Must be well organized. 5. Should be able to coordinate and lead others in completing a task. 6. Should have strong training and communication skills. 7. Must have at least three years of mine maintenance experience. 8. Must be or have been a Tech Level II or higher in the Truck Shop or Field Maintenance areas or have equivalent experience. 9. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 10. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations. 11. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 12. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. 13. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team. 14. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills. 15. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. 16. Requires valid driver’s license.
