ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.   Leads department by example in health & safety performance.  Ensures safety compliance and
 makes certain all  maintenance programs and activities are in accordance with corporate, site and 
 MSHA safety regulations.
2.   Manages the department's environmental performance by supporting and complying with all
 related policies.
3.   Coordinate the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial equipment.
4.   Direct the activities of the electrical and instrumentation crew to maintain the property-wide 
 electrical / instrumentation system.
5.   Responsible for conducting performance evaluations, recommending promotions and caring out 
 corrective actions as needed.
6.   Work with the maintenance scheduler to plan and schedule daily work.  
7.   Assist the scheduler in determining technical specifications of the equipment.
8.   Report Processing: daily time cards, vacation & PLP, accident & injury reports, and disciplinary 
 action reports.
9.   Implement a process of continuous improvement in line with the guidelines of reliability engineering.
10. Perform the evaluation of contractors and suppliers.
11. Perform the validation of MSHA certification of contractors.
12. Collaborate and validate in the development of procedures related to maintenance.
13. Collaborate in the implementation of new initiatives and projects related to maintenance 
 improvement.
14. Assist the maintenance planner in the implementation of all new equipment by following the New 
 Equipment SOP.
15. All supervisors, planners, schedulers and reliability engineer will be part of the weekend duty call 
 out program.
16. Identify, assess and alleviate risks related to maintenance work.
17. Lead by example and positively influence the rest of the crew to achieve the goals.
18. Maintain positive relationships with other departments within Fort Knox and equipment m
 manufacturer's representatives.
19. Ensure that each work order contains all the information needed (Technical closing) before sending 
 it to the Planner for administrative closing.
20. Suggest updates of Bill of Materials and Associated Part Lists based on field experience.
21. Collaborate with planning and supply in the evaluation and selection of suppliers.
22. Recommend and validate with planners the updating of maintenance guidelines for maintenance 
 activities based on field experience (materials, parts and times).
23. Collaborate in the identification of key jobs for the preparation of annual budget.
24. Participate in the application of Reliability Methodologies for supporting the continuous improvement 
 of maintenance strategies (Route Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centered Maintenance
 (RCM), Failure Modes Effect Criticality Analysis (FMECA), etc).
25. Meet or exceed expected performance as set by management.   
26. Consistent exercise of discretion and judgment in job performance.
27. Investigate, analyze the documentation of accidents related to direct reports.
28. Possession of a valid driver license issued by the state.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
1.  Perform other related functions as assigned.    

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  
1.    High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and    
  write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
2.   At least 2 years of experience in maintenance in the mining or related industries.
3.   At least 2 years of experience in Maintenance or an operations supervisory role.
4.   Computer skills (JDE and Windows).
5.   Organized: Able to properly manage time, documents, resources and activities for fulfilling duties.
6.   Anticipates consequences and risks with a medium and long term vision.
7.   Show initiative and maturity to analyze and solve problems.
8.   Possess good communication skills (written and oral), ability to work with other employees (Team oriented).
9.  Ability to function in the qualifications in the attached physical demands sheet.
10.  Strong verbal, written, analytical, problem solving, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact    
effectively with all levels of employees and management.
11.  Ability to work with others in a team environment, yet be self motivated and ability to work with    
   minimum supervision.
