This position will lead execution of treatment maintenance strategy in Tasiast operations and ensure alignment with the organizational overall strategy. Responsible for planning, operation and growth of maintenance group within the operation. The position is paramount in maximizing operational efficiencies, safety, and profitability and to cultivate exceptional corporate leadership while promoting nationalization. Areas of responsibility may include Environment, Health and Safety, Mine, Mill, Maintenance, Security, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Supply Chain, Camp etc. Executes short and long-term strategies that support the growth of operations and ensures strategies are concretely linked to the organization’s overall strategy Formulates the annual operating and capital budgets for operations while supporting Nationalization planning for every expat position Develops systems and measures that appropriately assesses performance of operations / function and monitors and manages overall performance of direct reports Manages the human, financial, and operational resources of operations / function to maintain costs Coordinates operations / functions through Supervisors to maintain and improve efficiency and health, safety and environmental standards established by the company Monitors records for the operation / function, including safety meetings, attendance, vacations, performance evaluations, disciplinary action and training records Reviews all reports related to accidents, injuries, equipment damage, and lost opportunities; makes recommendations on prevention strategies Implements and evaluates processes, policies, systems, and practices related to equipment and tools, as well as establish process controls, aiming to ensure better quality and higher productivity Acts as a change agent and project sponsor for key initiatives; models organizational values, sets the cultural tone, and prioritizes business goals Leads and manages a team responsible for executing operations / functional strategies Builds the capabilities of the team to enhance the operation’s / function’s ability to achieve financial and operating strategies; identifies succession role requirements and high potential talent and actively develops key talent |

Education: University Degree - Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering Additional specialized education of up to 4 years including masters level degree or equivalent Formal professional designation in appropriate area of expertise Experience: 8 - 12 years of related work experience Knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering techniques as they apply to plant operations Knowledge and experience of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions Knowledge and experience of developing policies and procedures relating to safety, the environment, and individual and organizational development Familiar with federal / industry and local health/ safety/ environmental regulations, as they relate to mining operations Skills: Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Good working Knowledge of MS Office |
