  Purpose of Role

To provide friendly, attentive, and timely service to create an exceptional experience for all of Sahara Club guests while maintaining a level of control and adherence to Kinross Sahara Club policies   (bar located at the camp site)

 Rotation 

Tto and from site in Mauritania: 10 day on, 4 day off schedule.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skill Requirements 

  ·    8 - 12 years of related work experience 
 .     Knowledge and experience in serving alcohol in a club or bar 
 ·    Strong verbal and written skills to provide the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
·    Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  Good working Knowledge of MS Office
  ·    Ability to manage multiple, conflicting deadlines with complicated logistics and scheduling
 Be able to communicate and understand English, French and Spanish 
• Must be able to work in Mauritania and qualify for a work permit
• Must be available to work at 4:00 pm and as late as 12:00 am
• Must have the ability to handle money in multiple currencies and convert money to drink tokens.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver up to 10 to 15 Kilos 
 

Key Areas of Responsibilities and Duties: 
 Oversee remote camp bar activities
Maintains a Guest focus while performing duties
Assumes 100% responsibility for quality guests’ experience
Take beverage orders from guests.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Sahara Club drink policies.
 Prepare, present, set-up food and clean-up.
Record drink orders accurately and immediately collect the proper money or coins.
Wash and sterilize glassware.
Prepare ice for drinks and snacks for bar patrons.
Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation.
Clear tables in bar area.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to bar manager.
Actively assist in the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies. 
 

 
Further information:
·    Accountable for Money reconciliation, coordinates work activities and covers for the bar manager in her absence

·    Applies understanding of how a bar in a remote area operates to promote a positive guest experience
·    Applies technical skills to improve efficiency and accomplish tasks in a fast moving environment.
 ·    Sets priorities for bar activities under his/her responsibility to meet deadlines while operating within the specific rules of the Kinross liquor license.
·    Responsible for the collection of money and bar tokens and fully accountable for reconciliation of all budgets  

·    Identifies and resolves day-to-day problems in the Sahara club
·    Responds to non-standard requests and reports immediately violations of the club policies
·    Decisions are guided by policies and  procedures   
Impact
·    Impacts the social team atmosphere that provides a positive after work experience.   
·    Uses tact and diplomacy when a patron has exceeded his/her drink limit
