ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will have responsibility for the following: - Responsible for financial planning and budgeting activities. - Responsible for forecasting and monitoring supporting cost control. - Drive financial and business analysis in order to create the required insights, upgrade existing FP&A capabilities. - Maintain key performance indicators and ensure company consistency of metrics and analyses. - Assist in the development and implementation of key financial policies and procedures. - Assist in the development and implementation of internal control systems. - Assist in the management of the finance and accounting team. - Be able to demonstrate leadership NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. MINIMUM QUALIFIACTIONS & SKILL REQUIEMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s level degree a plus; Ability to communicate effectively in English, French will be a plus; 5 to 10 years Big 4 experience; Knowledge of accounting guidance, i.e., International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), SEC, Sarbanes-Oxley. Knowledge of French based accounting a plus; 5 years of related mining industry experience. Experienced in developing and implementing new processes. Experience in West African countries is a plus; Previous team management experience ; Computer input and processing skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook; Ability to complete all assigned tasks proficiently, in a timely manner; Ability to develop strategies for continuous improvement in the admin and accounting fields; Actively seeks mentorship and learning to improve technical knowledge and skills; Must establish and change priorities quickly and be able to perform day-to-day duties with no supervision.
