Job Summary

This position, under the direction of the Security Supervisor is responsible for all security operations on RMGC property. This includes but is not limited to access control, use of company radios, monitoring of CCTV Cameras, patrol and refinery duties. Officers must maintain a professional security presence at all times while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
 
Essential Functions


1.   Provide protection for RMGC assets and employees.
2.   Provide the Security Supervisor with reports and information.
3.   Demonstrate proficiency in SuperBase computer, scales, phones, CCTV system, recorders and radios.
4.   Conduct security investigations with assistance from appropriate personnel or agencies.
5.   Demonstrate ability to work as a team member.
6.   Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
7.   Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
8.   Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
9.   Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
10. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
11. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
12. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
 

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

1.   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2.   Must agree to attend a hazardous identification class with-in one-year from the date of hire.
3.   Must obtain a certification as a Breathalyzer Alcohol Technician with-in one-year from date of hire.
4.   Must become site driving certified.
5.   Must demonstrate the ability to self-motivate.
6.   Must maintain an acceptable attendance, performance and discipline record.
7.   A minimum of one year security experience required.
8.   A minimum of two years mining experience preferred.
9.   Minimum two years’ experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
10. Must maintain all certifications listed under Essential Skills and Abilities.
11. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
12. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations. 13. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
14. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
15. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
16. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
17. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
18. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
19. Requires valid driver’s license.
