Kinross Round Mountain is an open pit mining operation located in Nye County, Nevada. Round Mountain is proud to have earned commendations for its safety and environmental initiatives.

The primary function of the Mill Operator Lead is to operate the Milling system in a safe and efficient manner in which assigned. These areas include reagent, grind & gravity, CIL circuit, flotation and tails operations & have basic Knowledge of the crusher system. The secondary function of the senior operator will assume some of the responsibilities of the shift foreman in the event the foreman is unavailable.   Assume the responsibilities of crew trainer along with the shift foreman while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
 
Essential Functions

1.   This person must be proficient and stay proficient in all operations in all Milling and all auxiliary components necessary to operate assigned plant. Senior operator will have basic knowledge of the Crushing process and continue to train in the crusher to become proficient.
2.   It is the responsibility of the operator to see that all plant system checks are made on his/her shift in the plant assigned and that all report sheets are filled out by the assistant or qualified operator.
3.   Train for job duties of Relief Supervisor, and fill in as needed.
4.   Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
5.   Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
6.   Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
7.   Works without risk or harm to self and others.
8.   Punctuality and regular attendance required.
9.   Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
10.     Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

1.   Must know some basic math and be able to use a simple calculator.
2.   Must be self-motivated, able to look around and find work that needs to be done without having to be instructed.
3.   Must be able to sense developing problems with relatively complex equipment in order to ensure that catastrophic failures are prevented.
4.   Experience in mineral processing would be a definite asset.
5.   Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
6.   General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
7.   Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
8.   Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
9.   Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
10.   Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
11.   Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
12.   Requires valid driver’s license.
