Open pit and underground ore are processed at the Chirano plant. The capacity of the mill is approximately 3.5 million tonnes per annum. Processing involves crushing, ball mill grinding, leaching, and CIL. |

As an important member of the Underground Mining Team, your key duties are to train members of the mine development team in the safe operations of Jumbo Drill Rig operations for mine development and installation of ground support to quality specifications safely and efficiently. The Jumbo Trainer is also responsible for training quality outcomes in the development process in terms of advance rates, over/under break and installation of ground support in accordance with Mines Geotechnical Plan. The position will also be Operations centric.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Jumbo Trainer is responsible for the immediate leadership, training and supervision of the Jumbo Drill and Blast Crews in the Underground mining operation to ensure safe and efficient activities of the Jumbo Drills and Charging Promote and maintain safe working practices including safe and efficient Production Drilling practices Training the Drillers in operating, organizing and planning the shift, meeting weekly targets and maintaining a high standard of work Providing competency assessments and operational improvement plans for the drill and blast team Read and follow mine plans and survey instructions Mark up faces in accordance with geological, statutory, and survey specifications Installation of all ground support, except cable bolts and shotcrete Installation of mine services when required Work with technical and supervisory staff in quality and safety initiatives Ensure end of shift reports (Plods) are up to date At all times follow requirements of Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work Instructions Ensuring all task activities follow and aligned with Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work Instructions at all times |

Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of jumbo rigs
Currently employed in an underground operation as a Jumbo operator Detailed knowledge of the operation of large jumbos either single or multi-boom rigs Ability to read and understand detailed survey prints and layouts Ability to read and understand designed ground support plans Experience with Tamrock 2009 Axera Twin Boom Jumbos will be highly regarded Current and valid driver’s license required Good knowledge and operating experience of underground mobile equipment particularly underground loading and mucking equipment together with charge up equipment Current and valid Driver’s license required A train-the-trainers or supervisory certificate of competency would also be well regarded Working knowledge in Surpac Drill and Blast layouts & Microsoft Office Suite First Aid Certificate preferred #LI-JJ |
