Chirano is located in southwestern Ghana, approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Kumasi, Ghana's second largest city. The mine is within the Bibiani gold belt and consists of 11 deposits. Open pit and underground ore are processed at the Chirano plant. The capacity of the mill is approximately 3.5 million tonnes per annum. Processing involves crushing, ball mill grinding, leaching, and CIL. |

· Actively promote Safety culture and Hazard awareness · Maintain production goals and objectives as a team · Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance, ensures safety at each work place · Practice and promote company environmental, health, safety and operational policies and procedures · Actively participate in CGML Continuous Improvement program · Report all accidents, unsafe positions, defected equipment, and safety complains from his department to HSE representative. · Commitment to investigate, represent, and provide technical reports for any incidents Participate in Root Cause Analysis of failures when required · Select appropriate equipment and materials required for welding, and plans layout, assembly and welding process / methods. · Lay out, positions, aligns and fits components together. · Bolt, clamp, and tack parts securely in position for welding. · Set up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment. · Assemble various fabrication parts by bolting and riveting. · Repair parts by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling. · Maintain a neat, tidy and safe work station. · Follow all health and safety rules and regulations for work area. · Inform supervisor of any workmanship issues, requests checking of work when appropriate, and seeks approval of completed work. · Provide training and instruction to the less experienced workers · Provide complete and accurate reports as needed. · Operate welding equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment to area supervisor. · Produce strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent. · Follow required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process. · Maintain / produce a level of output that will minimize production delays · Other duties as reasonably assigned |

· Preferable who has experience 5 – 10 years in mining maintenance field · Knowledge of the welding process and equipment. · Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with a good penetration and a quality appearance. · Ability to operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torches. · Good communications skills relative to supervisor and other related departments. · Math skills including fractions and angles. · Ability to read tape measures and angle finders. · Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists. · Ability to lift 50 pounds. · Physical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead. · Ability to climb and work from a ladder. · Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches. · Trained in forklift and overhead crane operation · Has the skill of quality job execution, and able to plan jobs in coordination with colleagues, other Departments · Well-developed English oral, written communications and report writing skills. · MSHA training · Current driving license |
