Job Summary
To provide leadership and technical guidance to a team in a production/ operational area of technical services, contributing to the execution of the long-term strategy. Applies and prioritizes short and intermediate-term business plans, assuring alignment with the organization’s overall strategy. Ensures the continued growth of an area within technical services while maximizing operational efficiencies and profitability and fostering stakeholder and employee satisfaction while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values. Essential Functions 1. May provide services to operational areas including engineering, metallurgy, geology or projects. 2. Ensures forecasts, budgets and reporting is completed in a timely manner. 3. Supports regulatory compliance and participates in business and / or project planning by offering technical expertise. 4. Builds the capabilities of the team to enhance the production / operational area’s ability to achieve financial and operating strategy; may identify succession role requirements and high potential talent, and actively develops key talent. 5. Makes decisions guided by policies and procedures within technical services that align with the organization’s overall strategy. 6. Sets performance targets and measures, monitors, and manages overall performance of the production / operational area and direct reports. 7. Acts as a change agent and project sponsor for key initiatives in technical services; models organizational values, sets the cultural tone, and prioritizes business goals. 8. Contributes to the execution of strategies in technical services to enhance current practices and performance. 9. Formulates the annual operating and capital budgets for an area of technical services. 10. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 11. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management. 12. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance. 13. Works without risk or harm to self and others. 14. Punctuality and regular attendance required. 15. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above. 16. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor. |

Qualifications and Skill Requirements
1. University degree (Bachelor of Science or Engineering) required. 2. Prefer a degree in Mine Engineering. 3. Formal professional designation in appropriate area of expertise preferred. 4. More than 10 years of related work experience or equivalent. 5. Knowledge of engineering techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and mine operations as well as of requirements of “Qualified Person” in reporting ore reserves. 6. General knowledge of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions. 7. Knowledge and experience in developing policies and procedures relating to safety, the environment and individual, and organizational development. 8. Proven leadership skills. 9. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 10. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations. 11. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. 12. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills. 13. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. 14. Requires valid driver’s license.
