Job Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for assisting maintenance personnel in day-to-day clerical functions. This includes answering phones, taking notes, ordering supplies, and assisting technicians on computer programs. Must be able to multi-task and perform clerical duties efficiently with minimal supervision. This role will also serve as a liaison between maintenance and all other functional areas including, but not limited to: Operations, Payroll, HR, Ancillaries, Environmental, and Safety while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
 
Essential Functions

1.   Provide clerical support to the Maintenance department, including vacation and absence tracking for Maintenance.
2.   Create and maintain work orders as necessary, including creation and management of PMs per the Kinross Way.
3.   Manage Kinross Way Maintenance KPIs.
4.   Answer phones, transfer calls, take messages, and serve as the backup for other Maintenance Clerks.
5.   Enter all required data in a manner that is protected, easily retrievable, and in a useable format.
6.   Greet visitors (vendors and other personnel) who come to the Maintenance office, answer their questions, give instructions, and arrange for appointments.
7.   Schedule meetings.
8.   Type, copy, and distribute letters, memos, and reports as requested.
9.   Keep an inventory of office supplies and order as needed.
10.     Create and update Mine Maintenance forms (Formtool skills required).
11.     Maintain a standard level of orderliness and cleanliness in the office.
12.     Complete progression training as required and attend training classes when possible.
13.     Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
14.     Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
15.     Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
16.     Works without risk or harm to self and others.
17.     Punctuality and regular attendance required.
18.     Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
19.     Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
 

1.   Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing presentation software.
2.   Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, and Excel.
3.   JD Edwards Preferred.
4.   Microsoft PowerPoint Preferred.
5.   Should have good general clerical abilities.
6.   Should work well with employees and outside customers.
7.   Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
8.   Must be proficient at listening to and understanding others.
9.   Must have at least one year of clerical experience.
10. Ability to work with minimal supervision and self-motivation is a must. 11.   Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
12.    General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
13.    Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
14.    Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
15.    Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
16.    Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
17.    Requires valid driver’s license.
