Job Summary
Ensure supervision excellence in Capital Projects, while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values. Essential Functions 1. Support both Operations and Projects groups. 2. Act as liaison with capital managers on-site to meet engineering and supervision requirements. 3. Assist in hiring and managing engineering consultants. 4. Coordinate with capital managers and engineering consultants. 5. Review and approve design drawings for construction projects. 6. Serve as Project Supervisor on small plant expansion or improvement projects, completing field contractor supervision as required. 7. Serve as Project Supervisor on small capital projects as required. 8. Coordinating with Environmental and Safety departments to assure Kinross and regulatory compliance in engineering design and field supervision. 9. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 10. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management. 11. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance. 12. Works without risk or harm to self and others. 13. Punctuality and regular attendance required. 14. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above. 15. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor. |

Qualifications and Skill Requirements
1. Must be a self-starter. 2. Must be willing to devote the time required to complete capital projects and be on call during off time. 3. Knowledge of pump and piping systems, water modeling, structural design, conveyor systems, electrical and instrumentation and control is preferred. 4. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 5. Working skill with AutoCAD is preferred. 6. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the Projects team. 7. A minimum of five years’ experience working in the mining or construction industry. 8. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management. 9. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance. 10. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations. 11. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. 12. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills. 13. Requires valid driver’s license.
