Purpose of Role
To lead the execution of the strategy for the Tasiast Adsorption, Desorption and Recovery (ADR) Plant and Dump Leach operations and ensure alignment of the organizations overall strategy. Responsible for planning, continued growth of the Tasiast ADR and Dump Leach operations, maximizing efficiencies, safety, profitability and to cultivate exceptional stakeholder and employee satisfaction.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties
Manage and control the day to day running of 2 dump leach operations 5Mta each
Manage control the day to day running of the Adsorption, Desorption, Recovery (ADR) plant. Coordinate ordering of all equipment and materials related to the dump leach and ADR. Liaise with various departments for the running of dump leach and ADR plants. Training of national staff in the running of the ADR and dump leach. Continuous improvement planning with the stacking and irrigation strategy of the leach pads. Balancing and water control between 2 plants and 2 leach pads. Planning ore dumping on the pads and scheduling pads irrigation Budget planning and control Accountable for all Dump Leach and ADR plant operation. Promote and motivate Safety, Health and Environmental awareness. Ensure that JSA, risk assessments and SOP exists for all major tasks in work areas. Ensure that operating procedures are adhered at all times. Ensure that operating parameters are met or exceeded. Prepare budgets and forecasts as required. Ensure operating costs are within budget. Liaise with mining to plan and control ore stacking (ore dumping) and pad irrigations to achieve budgets. Ordering of all equipment and materials related to the dump leach and ADR. Identify operating personnel who have potential to be trained as leading hands and supervisor Maintain an open communication between maintenance, metallurgy, warehouse, laboratory, mine, contractors. |

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements
University Degree in related field required. (Bachelor of Science in related area, preferred)
Eligible for formal professional designation in appropriate area of expertise. At least 5 years of related work experience in Dump Leach Operations. Additional Qualifications & Skill Requirements In-depth understanding of Kinross’ processes a definite asset. Knowledge and experience in developing policies and procedures relating to safety, environment and individual and organizational development. Experience supervising or mentoring rank and file employees. Ability to learn quickly. Proven knowledge of mine site operations and resource requirements. Second languages skills- French an asset. |
