| Purpose of Role
To provide complex technical support to the mechanical / maintenance team. To ensure continued growth of the department, to maximize operational and mechanical efficiencies and profitability, utilizing employee suggestions. To follow established policies, practices and procedures when completing work assignments. To act as a senior point of contact for all technical employees in the function, including building their capabilities and troubleshooting escalated issues. To provide recommendations on current and emerging practices and technologies and to implement recommendations that are a source of key competitive advantage. Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties Reporting to the Superintendent/Maintenance Working in a remote location, on a live on-site basis Ensure that all mechanical work is carried out in a manner consistent with standard Mines Regulations Maintenance of all fixed plant infrastructure and mine site services Maintaining process plant equipment / infrastructure Educate/coaching workforce and develop nationals for succession planning Ability to complete tasks as well as demonstrate and lead by example when training nationals Co-ordinate and assist with plant expansion projects Identifying plant issues and develop plans for rectifying Attend daily/weekly planning meetings and issue and ensure jobs are carried out to recognized standards Order required equipment for projects and to maintain plant availabilities Supervise jobs and assist with fault finding on breakdowns Attend call outs depending on plant requirements to maintain availabilities of equipment for continuous operations of the plant. |

Must have successfully completed and possess a Mechanical Trade Certificate in Fitting/Turning, or relevant equivalent Demonstrated experience in a similar Supervisory Role with a minimum of 3 years Mining in a CIL Gold Plant Proven Experience in Mill Maintenance Ensure work is carried out in a manner complying with site safety standards Demonstrated experience with conveyor operation and maintenance Demonstrated experience in Jaw and Gyratory Crushers Demonstrated experience in Warman Slurry Pumps Demonstrated understanding of hydraulic and lube circuits Demonstrated experience in reciprocating and screw compressor Previous experience as Fitter in a continuous operating plant environment Must be able to read hydraulic schematics Computer literate with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Project, and Autocad Experience in welding of HDPE pipes Electrowinning Experience with diesel fired burners Demonstrated ability to perform basic machining/lathe operation Demonstrated ability in basic arc welding Working understanding of a continuous operation gold plant Familiar with JDE Maintenance System Ability to speak French or Arabic would be an distinct advantage #LI-AL1 |
