Purpose of Role
To Maintain crusher equipment in project development and production activities while the operations training department develops national operators to the standard of competency required to operate alone in full production conditions.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility and Duties

Comply with all Kinross & Tasiast Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Perform task in accordance with instructions received from immediate supervisor
Recognize report and manage / control any potential or actual hazards that you identify.
Carry out assignments free of constant supervision.
Communicate/co-ordinate with other equipment operators
Maintain the work area to standards generally accepted as World Class at other operations
Assists in the development of the National Heavy Equipment Operators  by coaching others in the duties of the position
Operate other equipment on which you have a company license as required by your immediate supervisor
Trouble shoot and perform minor maintenance on the machines that you operate
Develops policies and procedures relating to safety, the environment, and individual and organizational development
Ensures that direct reports and respective work areas are in compliance with Health and Safety policies and regulations
Ensures direct reports have the necessary training, skills, knowledge, and tools to do their jobs safely
Provides support to all areas on issues that jointly involve production and safety
Observes operations to detect violation of safety regulations and compile safety and production records
Assists in accident and incident investigations and ensures that recommendations are implemented by agreed upon dates.


Reporting Relationships

Provides work direction to immediate team
Typically reports into Superintendent level or above
Required Qualifications 


  General knowledge of heavy industrial projects 
Ability to meet scheduling, safety and production targets 
High School graduate or equivalent 
More than 5 years of related work experience; Previous experience in the mining industry is preferred 
General knowledge of heavy industrial projects

Fluency in English and ability to communicate in French and Arabic is a plus
